Greta Van is chief strategy officer for Crawford & Company. With over 25 years of internal audit, financial and executive management experience in the public and private sector, Van leads the company’s long-term strategy across all global service lines and shared services while also overseeing Crawford’s sourcing, business development, acquisitions and marketing functions throughout the company’s worldwide offices.
Known for her ability to achieve consensus through hands on leadership, her vision is to guide Crawford’s employees to provide enterprising solutions for clients while mitigating company risk and enhancing overall operations. She takes a special interest in building teams and developing employees so they can meet their full potential and consistently exceed expectations.
Van is also a member of various committees that assist in monitoring Crawford’s risk profile such as the IT Executive Steering Committee and the ERM Risk Council.
Before serving as the chief strategy officer, Van was responsible for Crawford’s global internal audit function. In her career, she’s had a successful track record of implementing and maturing best-in-class global audit functions.
Prior to joining Crawford in 2014, her background spanned multiple areas such as internal audit, process improvement, financial accounting and controller, information security, business continuity, enterprise risk management, compliance, strategic business planning, public accounting, mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and post-acquisition integrations.
Van received her master’s in professional accountancy from Georgia State University and her bachelor of science in business from Clemson University. She was selected to complete the Emory Goizueta executive education certification in executive leadership. Van was also selected to attend the invitation-only KPMG Executive Women’s Leadership Institute. She is a certified public accountant and a certified internal auditor.
Outside of her career, Van is a dedicated mother and wife who enjoys baking, running and reading. She can often be found on the sidelines at her son’s football and lacrosse games or paddle boarding with her family.
